USES

We suggest using our turmeric essential oil aromatically and/or applying it topically.
Its aroma is fresh, warm, woody, and earthy, with a slightly spicy kick. Personally, we think turmeric has a very sensual scent, but (full disclaimer) we’re a little turmeric-obsessed around here :)
Use it solo, or create your own scent blend. We love turmeric paired with citrus oils, lavender, ylang ylang, clary sage, or ginger!  

  • BEFORE APPLYING ESSENTIAL OIL TO YOUR SKIN, ALWAYS DILUTE WITH A CARRIER OIL

    Do a patch test the first time you use any essential oil just to make sure you don’t have any sensitivities. Our favorite combos to pair with turmeric essential oil is coconut oil (turmeric latte for your body, anyone?), evening primrose oil, or rosehip seed oil. 

DETAILS

Turmeric essential oil is derived from the roots of the turmeric plant, Curcuma longa. Turmeric is a member of the ginger family, and has a long history as a plant ally for humans. People have used its roots as a spice, dye, and medicine in India and across Asia for thousands of years. Turmeric has been revered and recognized for its effects on the human body.

CONSIDERATIONS

  • MIGHT STAIN

    Because of its yellow hue (it is turmeric, after all), be careful not to stain your clothing, sheets, pillowcases, etc. Unless you are blessed with a darker complexion, turmeric essential oil is best for nighttime skincare routines so you don’t (temporarily) stain your face :)

  • DISCLAIMER

    Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. Just to be on the safe side, it’s a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider before using if you are pregnant, nursing, or have other medical concerns. Like any essential oil, always use a carrier oil with topical application. This oil may interact with certain drugs. Do not take internally unless you are working with a qualified practitioner.
